"Grateful for the welcome to come in right away even though I was not sure my needs were an emergency. With thoughtful help from Dr. C we went ahead with a crown. In the process he found sig ificant decay that hid from xray by gold. We made the right decision. Everyone delightfully helpful to the old lady with the cane."

Dr. Duarte says that as a dentist, he gets to form personal connections not just with his patients, but also their families. For him, it’s such a pleasure to watch the people he takes care of grow and thrive as the years go by, and he loves hearing about their exciting milestones along the way. He’s ready to make sure that whatever great things life has in store for you, you’re always able to smile!
Dr. Duarte’s dental career started in high school when he began working as an assistant, and he went on to graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he was a Banneker/Key Scholarship Recipient. He then earned his dental degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and then completed a one-year residency in Advanced General Dentistry from NYU Langone.
Throughout high school, college, and dental school, Dr. Duarte’s own dentist served as his mentor, which he really appreciated because the journey was challenging at times! Today, as a member of the Seattle Study Club and Spear Education, he attends monthly lectures to keep up with the latest research and advancements in dentistry. Quality continuing education courses and seeking additional certifications help him consistently improve on what he does in our practice. He is certified in Invisalign and cone beam 3D imaging to help with guided dental implant placement.

We’ll find you the first appointment we can—often on the same day—and work to diagnose and resolve the issue quickly.
We recommend that you do not visit the emergency room for a dental emergency unless one of the following occurs:
You break or fracture your jaw
You experience continuous bleeding that doesn’t cease after 10 minutes
Swelling continues to increase, making it difficult to swallow
All other injuries can be treated at our dental office by our trusted professionals, as we are capable of not only eliminating the pain but also developing a treatment plan that will mitigate the issue. In an emergency room, they would only be able to provide pain relievers and antibiotics.
According to the American Dental Association (ADA), tooth enamel is the hardest substance in the body; however, it’s not indestructible, and it doesn’t grow back on its own. This outermost layer of your teeth cannot heal without the help of a professional, which is why no matter how minor or severe, it’s best to call and schedule an appointment with our team. Teeth are capable of remineralizing, but that’s the extent. Our team will be able to provide cosmetic and/or restorative treatment to repair the damage, restore your appearance, and improve your oral health.
Only a skilled professional can fix a denture that is broken in half, so do not hesitate to reach out if you need this type of assistance. We can evaluate the broken denture to see if a repair is possible and also estimate how long a repair might last. In some cases, it might be more cost-effective and convenient for you to have a new, custom denture made. We will be sure to go over all your options in detail, of course.
Depending on the type of pain, location, and other particular symptoms, there is a good chance your tooth pain is the result of an infection that has formed. Typically, if you notice that you have bad breath, tooth sensitivity, a loose tooth, reddening and swollen gums, and an oral sore near the bothersome tooth, you likely have an infection that needs to be treated right away. This is the only way to know for sure if what you are experiencing is an actual infection. If so, we’ll work quickly to get you the help you need.
When wearing temporary restorations, it’s important to remember that these are not meant to last forever. Only until the finalized crown, bridge, denture, or veneer is ready should you be committed to wearing this type of restoration. The length of time a temporary restoration can be expected to last varies with each situation. If you have replaced a lost or damaged dental filling with the help of over-the-counter, temporary adhesive material, it’s important to remember that you should be scheduling time to see one of our dentists as soon as possible to properly address the problem.
